How does Rimrock Anaytical’s Plant Sex Testing work?
Rimrock Analytical’s plant gender testing service uses real-time qPCR detection of the Y-chromosome in Cannabis sativa L. The presence of a Y-chromosome indicates the presence of a male whereas the absence indicates a female. An integrated internal control is included with every test to prevent the incidences of "false negative" results, improving test robustness.
How much plant material is needed for gender testing?
Roughly 1 cm^2 is all that's required for completion of Rimrock Analytical's plant sex testing. Sampling can be completed using the kit-included vial cap, snipping off a small portion of leaf material.
Do I have to use all purchased samples at once?
No. you can purchase tests in bulk and send them in overtime. Each sample kit includes one return shipping label and sample ID form. You will need to either purchase additional shipping label(s) [available at our online store] or ship using your preferred carrier. Digitial copies of the sample ID form can be emailed to you upon request. They can also be found in our resources tab.
What's included with my sample kit?
You plant sex testing kit includes the following;
- Sample collection vial(s) based on the number of tests purchased.
- A sample ID form to fill-out and return with your samples.
- A return shipping label, sampling instructions.
- Sampling instruction sheet.
- Kit is sent in a mailer box that can be re-used to return your samples, just add the return label and seal up with packing tape.
